In order to be more comfortable in your discount scrubs, you can also choose the waist style of your pants – low rise, mid-rise or classic fit. If preferred, you can even have your initials or your company’s logo embroidered unto your scrubs. This way, people will immediately know who you are or where you work.

Scrubs are available for both men and women and come in sixes XS to XXL. Remember to specify if you are a tall or a petite size when choosing your scrubs as this will immediately eliminate all the hassle in fitting. Scrubs In and Out of Hospitals

Scrubs are not just for medical personnel.

Scrubs are short-sleeved V-necked shirts and loose drawstring pants typically worn in a medical environment. These are usually made of a combination of 55% cotton and 45% polyester.

They first came into use in the 1940s and by the 1950s, they became standard attire for surgeons while in the operating room. While the first scrubs were all white, these gradually evolved into different shades of green. White was meant to signify cleanliness but since it reflected light, it led to eyestrain for the surgeons and nurses. In addition, the green of the new scrubs made splotches of blood or other fluids less visible.

Owing to their color, the surgical attires were called "surgical greens". However, with the introduction of colors other than green, the term was no longer suitable. Eventually they came to be known as "scrubs" because they had to be worn when inside a sterilized or scrubbed area.

By the 1970s, scrubs were no longer limited to surgeons in the operating room. Other medical personnel also wear them, such as obstetricians, pediatricians, emergency room doctors, anesthesiologists, nurses, and anybody who has reason to believe that he or she might be splattered with a patient's body fluids. And neither are they limited to the operating room. You now see them worn by the hospital's medical staff even while walking to the cafeteria.

Scrubs not come in an array of colors, including different shades of blue, pink, or yellow. Others come with different prints so as to exude a more cheerful aura. Still others have cartoon characters printed on them. These are for the staff who take care of children.

Because scrubs are so comfortable to wear, even non-medical people are now wearing them though not in the hospitals. Some put them on while gardening, painting, or cleaning their house. Others use them while working out or lounging in the house. Even backpackers have taken to wearing them on their long hikes under the sun. Scrubs are not only light. They are also comfortable and cool.
